Dates: Friday, December 3 (London)
Time: 11am - 1pm (Lunch Provided)

Please join us for a Risk Roundtable panel on aligning risk management and IT.

Industry developments continue to raise the profile of risk and compliance issues -- particularly with information risk management, where rising client expectations, evolving professional standards and new regulations create new challenges and dangers.

In this context, it's vitally important that risk and IT organisations develop a shared understanding of the resources, policies and processes they can put in place to minimise firm exposure.

This session will explore current information risk and compliance challenges facing law firms, how risk and IT stakeholders can further educate firm management and peer departments, and how to effectively make the case for increased investment in risk management.

This Panel Will Explore Topics Including:

  • Communicating the implications and potential exposure tied to the expanding information risk landscape
  • Explaining the value and importance of the risk organization, its efforts across the firm and the importance of close collaboration with IT
  • Reviewing recommended areas and well-aligned projects for collaboration between risk and IT

Risk Technology -- How Advanced Technology is Transforming Risk Management for Law Firms

Dates:
Tuesday, May 18 (Philadelphia)
Wednesday, May 19 (New York)

Time: 11am - 1pm (Lunch Provided)

Over the past 12 months, several developments have raised the profile of risk management and compliance issues related to information management in law firms. This heightened focus results from the increased need to secure information, stricter penalty enforcement for non-compliance and the continued economic pressure to drive new business.

From conflicts and intake, to email and records, to confidentiality management, firms are under increasing pressure to examine and update their response strategies. This session will provide law firm General Counsel, Loss Prevention Directors, and Conflicts and Risk Management stakeholders with key understanding of the role of technology in achieving compliance and mitigating risk.

This Panel Will Explore Topics Including:

  • Current risks tied to common firm information and data lifecycle management practices
  • Evolving industry rules, case law and standards for ethical screening and client confidentiality
  • Mitigating risk associated with intake, conflicts and records through the use of Meaning Based Computing technology
  • The role of technology in mitigating email risk through Email Management tools that deliver new levels of automation and protection
